Pet guide and template

Non-Combat Pets:

Non-combat pets are normally small or serve some function that is not inherently tied to battle. Most mounts and personal pets fall here, as do beasts like messenger hawks and the like. These pets may have special abilities (see: air bison using airbending to fly, etc), and they can be particularly potent, but they cannot have any combat relation at all; with the exception of an animal with healing abilities. However, healing animals are highly restricted, and you're not going to be able to app the equivilant of a Chansey with Softboil and Heal Pulse or something.


Combat Pets:

These are any animals that are able to engage in combat situations outside of basic defensive abilities that an animal normally has. Something like a Badger Mole or Shirshu would be a combat pet, where as a Komodo Rhino is just a mount and a non-combat beast. If it has offensive abilities, it is combat. That being said; something like a NORMAL horse or other work animal with a nasty kick is not necessarily a combat pet; unless you intend to ride it into battle or something.

Alright, this seems to be the biggest point of confusion people are having. Basically, the system for where to app is this:

Beastiary

Only post pets, mounts, etc here if you're making a species of pet that ANYONE at a later time would be allowed to purchase. This is the universal library for pets for the site.


Item Buying/Registry

Personal, one of a kind animals and pets are bought here. No one else may have a pet like one made here without your permission, unless said beast is a staff created event prize.
