The pride and shining technological joy of the non-bender world; Gihwe is the sum total of all the scientific knowledge and progress humanity has made since the 'Dark Ages' of magic and spiritual arts. The people here have wholly rejected everything about the world before the time of science and individualist growth; leaving behind a legacy of immense technological greatness, but a complete disregard for the heart and soul of both humanity and the living ecosystems of the planet around them. Nothing is alive save for the humans, and even that is debatable to those that live outside this technological marvel.

A gleaming port in a land forever covered by a veil of night, Pukkŭksŏng Guk-ga exists on a small island continent in the far north-lands of the world; where once giants made of ice and snow roamed the waters, ships of metal and wood and steam now reign supreme. Trade from all over the world passes through here, as it sits at the crossroads of the major trade routes that lace the region. If you need to find something, no matter how rare, you'll find it here.

Once a major source of the world's ores and minerals, Guójiā Cānglóng has fallen on hard time recently, as many of the major mines and excavation sites have stopped producing in the volumes that supported the economic booms of past decades. Now in the middle of a deep depression, everything of the region and it's main city seems grey, dull, and listless; as if the very earth has joined in the sadness and misery the humans feel. Rumors of new veins and deposits of valuable materials circulate the shadows, leading the miners to dig ever deeper into the earth in search of new fortunes and a chance to revitalize their homeland.

This southern land is a wash with fog and rain; rarely do the hardy folk that call this region home see the sun, moon, or sky. Strange ships glide through the fog as if it where an ocean; not truely are they ships of the air or of the sea, but a hybrid of both that cannot function outside of the sea of fog covering the lands. Much of this region is unexplored: the humans of the land where driven from the forests and mountains by the spirits long ago, and they have remained huddled in their cities and towns, walled off from the wild lands around them. Local legends speak of a golden city that exists deep within the mountain fogs, filled with people with amazing powers and abilities that no one has seen in centuries.

The last bastion of spirituality and reverence for the natural world, Shugoryuu no Kuni is a hub of culture and humanism in a world that has turned it's back on such things. Great and mighty temples stand as gleaming reminders of the history of the world that many wish to forget. The people of this place tend to forgo the technological wonders of their neighbors, preferring a simpler life of study and contemplation.

Hidden deep in unforgiving mountains and swathed by a blanket of mist and fog, this city is a country in and of itself; an island preserving a world long since lost to the people outside of it's walls. This is the world that the Benders have built; a home and a safe place for them to live and die, far away from accusing eyes and vengeful weapons. Not all who call this city home are gifted with the powers of Bending, however all that live here strive to coexist in peace and harmony, just as the world itself did eons ago. While the population of the city and surrounding valley is almost exclusively made up of benders, there are the occasional non-bending humans that reside here. They are almost entirely made up of the children of bending families that did not inherit the ability to control and element, although the odd outsider does appear every so often; usually saved from a shipwreck off the coast or found lost in the mountains and brought in for treatment.
